Glad to see the shop owner will be fine.

Loss of life is always a shame. Hopefully this will server as a lesson to other potential robbers. I am very glad to hear the dealer will be ok and that no customers were hurt.

I agree. These people just dont consider the consequences when they go into something like this. When you threaten or inflict bodily harm you might just end up being shot. Thats the reality of it. Thats the risk they take going in. And for what?

Best case scenario, you get arrested. Worst case scenario, youre no longer with us. Youd think that would be enough deterent to avoid these situations but it never seems to end.

    Not at all !

We should just execute everyone currently in prison to prevent future crime. Lots of people don't deserve to live.

    The shop was aptly named.

It is a shame, but some people do deserve to die.

So kill the guy who is in jail for outstanding traffic tickets he couldn't pay? Or did you mean murders and rapists?

Yeah, or the people who are in jail for small drug offenses and other victim-less crimes, or dads who couldn't meet their child support payments because they couldn't find a job in the terrible economy. Or the people who can't afford to buy their family food because the no one can survive on minimum wage, so they steal some bread and get caught.

But on the other hand, let's praise the big bankers who steal hundreds of millions of dollars and bankrupt thousands of hardworking Americans, or the agencies that murder 100 of thousands of innocent people in the name of freedom (oh, I mean oil), or the politicians who lie continuously under oath...

Good plan Doug. Let us know how that turns out.

That's a pretty extreme view, IMO.

Not many people truly deserve to die and sometimes telling the difference between the ones that do and the ones that don't can be difficult. Generally speaking I'm OK with the death penalty for those that kill children or those who premeditate a murder, so long as we are certain it was them. I think it's better to have 100 murders in prison for life than it is to execute one innocent one.

Any loss of life is terrible, there are rare times when it may be needed to protect society.

There are a whole lot of people in high places who deserve dirt naps, but unfortunately, discussing politics is verboten here... :(

No offense, when does a coin store robbery go good? and it only goes bad for one person. for the dealer, in terms of the robbery, it went quite well.

Well, there's one less problem for society now. Thank you 2nd Amendment!

Youve never heard the phrase used before? If they robbed them and ran, its just a robbery. When bullets fly and people die, its a robbery "gone bad". Even though the outcome was favorable.

Yes, this is a good case for the 2nd amendment. Everyone should have the right to defend themselves with a firearm if they so choose.

Scumbags like this are EXACTLY the reason I keep renewing my CC permit. Let this be a lesson to other scumbags. When you commit an armed offense, it might just be your last.

I didn't say I had never heard the phrase before. I was merely stating that it only went bad for the robber. You had taken the side of the robber. I was taking the side of the coin dealer.

Here is another story on the topic.

A side issue I would point out. This is a major dealer in US coins, and near the end of the first page it talks about how he paid $500k for a coin in 79 once and then the market slowed, and he sold some years later at a loss. Anyone who likes to think about "investing" in rare coins should think about that, a well known, knowledgable dealer took a huge hit on a coin, what makes you think you can do better necessarily?

  21. Just another day in Florida. Interesting that the robber was a former customer known to the dealer. Probably cased the place and earned some degree of trust. Glad to hear that the owner was not killed or that any innocent bystanders/collectors were hurt.
