12 noon and I can't get into the mint site - must be busy!

Order confirmation at 12:08PM. No biggie.....site was slow but not outrageously so.

 

I was curious to see if it loads or not. I'm still in the consideration stage, I got a whole month to think about it and I'm in no rush to get my order in immediately, especially since they're not shipping these out for another month. No reason to race to buy to be the first, it's like blowing past everyone at the red light to only hit the next one 100 yards down the road, where everyone going normal speeds pull up beside you.

 

Well just taking a look at the Mint's website performance right past noon, I'm getting timed out on the browser and it's slow as moe-lasses... So what's new? The Mint should be issuing a press release any minute now regretting the sluggishness and extolling how a body of experts in some far away country are working on the kinks to fix this for customer satisfaction is their highest concern.

Well, at least we'll know how many are being ordered.

 

I wonder if it will correct downward as the number tops certain levels and some buyers reduce or cancel their orders because the mintage is too high for them.

 

I just checked that out Lee......pretty kewel......to bad they don't have it running at the moment (like HSN) but that would probably slow the site down even more.

UPDATE--order went through. Took over an hour, and I have a super fast cable connection--site was so amazingly slow!

 

Wow, 2:34PM and I can't get back into their site. I thought for sure things would have slowed a bit by now.

Huh. I went on the website around 1:30 just to see what the pricing was and the site wasn't even slow for me. Still debating if I am going to purchase one or wait for secondary market. Those reverse proofs sure are beautiful though!

 

I wanted to see how all the action was going with the new two-coin San Francisco silver eagle set. Both times this afternoon, the usmint.gov site was down. I do not plan to order my coins until sometime near the end of June anyway, along with several other annual sets, so I will just be patient.

 

I bet it crashes towards the end of the one month period as well. I would not advise waiting until the last day to order. TC
