I found this in a river here in Arkansas today, but yesterday I found several miniture deity figures and a alter/ shrine in the same spot. This coin has a Hindu god and a swastika, what yr could this be and what's it worth? Also what god is on it ?
Can't help unless you have pics. Hindu gods and swastikas have been on indian and near indian coinage for over 2000 years. We kind of need some help to narrow it down for you.
:welcome: It sounds a little bit strange that you could find Hindu shrine in an Arkansas river...Would be more appropriate in an Hindu River, quite far away Swastika is quite a common symbol for oriental civilizations, and even symbolize temples/shrines on japanese maps Could you post some pics of your finds ? Thanks !
Thanks 6 4 The deity reminds me of Shiva who is multi-armed like this one but usually depicted dancing..
It appears to me a token of Shiva. There is no indication that is a coin, and I can tell you for sure its not an ancient or medieval coin. Items like this are very common in Asia, and I believe its a decorative token possibly associated with a Hindu shrine. As for age I am not sure. In India they still use swastikas some, but less than before the Nazis.
