So I want to send in some coins to get graded but I am running into a problem. I would love to send to PCGS or NGC but there Accounts are just a little to much for me to pay for right now. I am asking you which of the next TPG's would you send your coins to? ANACS or ICG. Thanks for the help.
Save up and get it done right. You will probably make the money back down the road when it come time to sell.
Send them in to PCGS or NGC through your local dealer if you are friendly with them. The resale value will be higher and they may have some good advice about what you are sending. Although ANACS is a good company too if you feel like sending them in on your own.
The only time I would send a coin in to be graded is if the difference between the prices it could fetch ungraded vs graded exceeded the cost of grading, and I didn't mind it being gone for as long as six months.
So if you want a better grade on your coin and a higher return pay more to get it. When did we get so dumb as to send our coins to one company that holds a higher standard . In my opinion a coin is a coin and a grade is a grade and as long as deep pockets continue to yield to these so call better companys those that will pay the higher price will keep this lie alive. I send them nothing.
PCGS and NGC are not much more expensive than ANACS. ANACS' basic rate is $14 per coin which is only $3 less than NGC economy and $4 less than PCGS economy. However ANACS' 15-day service is $17 per coin which puts it right next to the big two. Now, you have to weigh that cost against turnaround times. PCGS is currently the slowest at 32 business days--around 6 weeks. NGC is faster, ANACS the fastest.
ANACS is better than ICG IMO. You could also save some money and get it done the best way the first time by PCGS or NGC.
