I received half a scholarship to go to Colorado for the Summer School grading classes! Anybody else going? I hope to take Intermediate grading. Special thanks to Olde Saratoga Coin(local shop I am the protege at) and a private dealer I work for who helped pay for me to go!
I applied and didn't get anything. Sadly I can't afford to go by my own pay, so I gotta try again next year.
Congrats on your scholorship. Which week will you be at Summer Seminar? I will be there both weeks. Look me up while you are here.
I applied, but also didn't get a full or half scholarship. I gotta start writing numismatic articles and putting together numismatic displays if want to get a chance next year!
I've been offered a full scholarship for Summer Seminar of 2013, and obviously couldn't pass it up. Hope to see those of you who didn't get a scholarship this year re-apply for a scholarship for 2013! I'd love to meet some forum members (especially those of you who I know are my age or close to it). Have fun, vnickels! And, yes, like Peter said, share your experience with us when you return. -Brian
I'll be there both weeks. Taking Grading I and Grading II. The bummer is that I will miss the Balto Whitman show.
I'll be there both weeks and - along with Hobo - make a point of trying to meet you. Who are your instructors? Tom Hallenbeck (ANA President) and Jerry Bobbe teach Intermediate Grading and are outstanding - not that the others are not also. There are a lot of YN activities but also try to reach out to some of us "older" guys. You won't believe the number of well known experts - authors, graders, dealers, etc. - that you can meet and talk with informally outside of class - maybe while eating in the "food court." It's the numismatic experience of a lifetime!!!
Nice! I wanna expand my numismatic writing skills some more; maybe we could co-author a couple pieces together?
