I found a wheat penny that appeared at first site to be a heavly worn 1986 wheat penny. Though they stopped minting wheat pennies in59. Upon further investigation it appears to be a massive mint error where the 3 became an 8. Any one know anything about this?
A photo would help. Wheat cents were not produced in 1986 so your coin is almost certainly dated 1936.
And if the 3 looks like an 8, or even IS an 8, it's possibly fake, for reasons Hobo, and you, stated.
It's a wheatback, and that's all that can be told from those pics. Date is unreadable from your photos.
