Listing on eBay has gotten really unreliable

I'm experiencing a lot of problems listing on eBay lately. Sometimes I'll get done typing a long description of a coin, fill everything out, hit submit, and then I'll get an error message telling me to enter a description. I look and that area is blank. Other times I don't get an error message but I look back at the listing and the description is blank, or it is the description for a different coin. Now every time I list I have to be sure to choose no international shipping. This used to stay turned off, but now it seems to turn back on every time by default. Sometimes I look back at older auctions and see that the photo has dropped off. I'm finding I have to check every single listing to make sure it looks like it should, and this is a big waste of time. Is anyone else getting these problems? It seems to be getting worse in the last few days. I looked at the eBay help forums, but most of the posts on there as usual have nothing to do with the category they are posting in and are people complaining about fees or something like that.

Since we all know that eBay favors the buyers in any dispute, I want to make sure I'm not setting myself up for trouble because the system failed me and I didn't notice.

I haven't had that problem but I don't sell that much on eBay any longer.

It's best to type up your descriptions in "word" or some other program, then copy and paste into your auction description. At least you don't lose any info. Not sure what would cause the pic to drop off; never had that problem.

Always use "review your listing" see if your missing anything.
Also copy (Ctrl+c) your description incase you have to type it all out again if missing in review your listing.
If you are really worried copy and paste the description onto a word document and title the file what you are listing.
The are just suggestions, I have never had your problems personally.

    Hope this helps

I've had that happen, it's maddening. Don't hit preview, and don't go to page 2, until you hit "save draft" at the bottom of description.

Yeah, I agree with this. I pretty much do this on all webforms, including longer posts here on cointalk. I just have lost too many well thought out and edited posts over 10 years, I am very cautious before hitting submit on anything longer than a paragraph. I just am too lazy to retype it all in most cases of data loss. Ctrl+C is your friend.

I never noticed a save feature but I will definitely start doing that. And yes, I have started copying it with ctr+c so I don't have to do it again. I'm more worried about the auction being listed wrong than in having to retype it though. I'm surprised most of the rest of you haven't noticed it. Maybe I should try a different browser. I'm using IE.

I believe the only time I have a problem is when my ISP gets "dropped". I live near a large AFB and use broadband. I think I am getting interference from the planes or radar ?

But I have written some generic descriptions ie; accept PayPal, combine shipping, etc that are saved on my computer. Then I only need to add a few lines of stuff pertinent to that particular item. But I don;t list a lot of stuff.

As noted, I don't sell on eBay much anymore but when I do I compose the body of my auction offline in Notepad using boilerplate copy which I flesh out with the details of the item being auctioned.
Then I just copy & paste from there to eBay. Prevents a lot of problems
