Weird Penny?

    Hi all, my dad sent me a bunch of coins he had been hanging onto for awhile. I happen to be going thru them and came along this penny. What is it and where did it come from? It has lincoln's head on the front with just the letters erty to the left and the numbers 196 on the right. On the back it has the building and the words one cent, chopped in half on bottom and the words e pluribus unum on top ( barely legible) it is about the size of a dime.. with the peremiter of the penny raised quite significantly. Not sure if the pics will do it justice. Just curious if its worth anything.

    Lol, maybe I should send more around thru a dollar in all cents, so I can have a complete set...tee hee..Thanks, mighty quick response. I have a ton of coins to go thru. He sent a whole bag so I will probaly have more questions..Thanks Again!!
