I have NEVER found a Commemorative half dollar (modern or vintage) during roll searching. Has anyone? Post your finds!
Only one. First one ever made, second year of issue. 1893 World's Columbian Exposition AU 50 or better. Still have it in my type set as one of 4 commemoratives in that set. When I first saw it I thought "What is that?" Had no idea what I was looking at. Saw it said United States though so got out my Red Book and found it. Shazam. Not worth any huge money but I though it was a way cool find.
That coin is beautiful. Most commemorative halves I've seen are sterile... no grime, no toning, etc. The circulated nature of the coin really adds eye appeal, in my opinion.
I have a Booker T. I found in a Teller tray... only old commem I've ever found. Other than that, I've got a few of those modern, clad Statue of Liberty commems.
Yep. Technically it wasn't in a roll, though. The teller had it loose along with $2 of regular clad halves. For sale if anyone's interested! http://www.cointalk.com/t206079/
