Here are some coins that I think are valuable

    1). GOLDEN BACK. It’s a 2008 penny IMG_0015.jpg (right) GOLDEN PENNY.
    How much is it worth?
2). RED PENNY. 1971 S penny IMG_0011.jpg (right) RED PENNY
    How much is it worth?

3). SILVER 1965 DIME. 1965 P dime, F:\DCIM\114_3105\IMG_0018.JPG I thought this was SILVER but then I saw some copper. IMG_0013.jpg is this SILVER or is this just some weirddime? And again How much is it worth?

Honestly, they all look to be worth about face value, the 71 cent is copper, so thats worth 2 cents.

Dimes, Quarters, and Half Dollars were silver until 1964.
Half Dollars were about half silver from 1965-1970.

Your coins are worth a whole 12 cents.

To elaborate, those "colored" surfaces and other quirks were all damaged post-mint (PMD). If they have some meaning to you for one reason or another, hang on to them. They won't be going down in value, for sure. If not, they're spenders.

This place is just lousy with trolls lately. People reaching into their car ashtray and asking if the caked-on grime is a mint error. "I have a very rare coin, but no camera, what is it worth?" Blah blah blah. It's getting tiresome, and is close to chasing me away.

Every forum is like that. You just have to sort through the chaff to find the wheat.

First off, you were a newbie here once yourself and some might think this:

    was troll like.

Secondly, if you find it mundane, nothing or no one, is forcing you to respond.

Finally, that quoted post, was your first thread here at CT when you joined in May 2009 ;) :thumb:

Just a reminder that you were new here once yourself, and little compassion for new people goes along way ;) :thumb:

Posts like the one from the OP remind me of myself when I got my Sears and Roebuck coin collecting kit for Christmas in 1969. Here's a pic: http://www.wishbookweb.com/1969_SearsChristmasCatalog/images/1969_SearsChristmasCatalogPage0364.jpg.

My parents bought me the deluxe $19.44 kit which in 2010 money is $114.29. This was a huge expenditure for my parents back in the day.

I thought EVERYTHING was valuable and collectible. From that point forward, I went through my mom's change purse everyday when she came home from work. That was the number one way I was able to put coins in my Whitman folders.

I think that if I had the internet back then, I would have been posting similar questions here on CT :smile
