I think this may be a very broad question but I have bags and bags of coins that my mother and her mother and her mother have all collected over the years. I am currently going thru and encasing them with the year and what-not. Since it'd take months to get pictures of all of them are there any coins that I should look for that are value. Certain years. We have several from the 1800's and even a little tiny gold coin that seems significant. We have mis prints in both dollars and coins, we have misprint stamps. All kinds of stuff. I guess maybe just curious what I could look for that may be of value to put aside. :)

Welcome to CT. The list of things to look for is far too long.
Gold and silver are one thing, but you would really need to understand how to grade a coin to understand it;s value. You should also purchase the redbook for coins to give you a general idea of which ones are worth more.
I would suggest separating them by types and taking images.

Cazkaboom One for all, all for me.

First thing I would say is to invest a couple dollars into a redbook. That'll help you figure out what is worth more than the others. Be advised though, the price guides aren't always accurate because the prices were written some time before the date it was released.

Sounds like a very big learning opportunity. Education isn't cheap, but a reference (book) will pay dividends. A coin, or general hobby, store should have at least one to choose from. When I was a kid I had a few different ones, blue or black books were adequate. The Red Book is by far more informative. There are some lists online.
    Happy hunting.
