On my constant search for raw toned love, I recently came across a Kennedy Dansco with some good looking toning going on. All clad Kennedy's P D S from 1970-1997 All of the silver was gone though. This really bums me out. Considering the source I bought this from, I fear they were pulled for scrap and probably had some amazing toning. Moving on, they all have full mint luster and fantastic rainbows, including the proofs. I hope you all enjoy today's show and tell. -greg The power or raw compels you! Brace yourselves...image dump. Here are some of my favorites: Here are the rest, minus the proofs:
A knife to my heart....but funny. gbroke, those are utterly fantastic! Do you share your photo techniques, or is that a trade secret?
All the silver was missing, except for the 1976 40% BU. I fear they have been thrown in the melting pot.
Gbroke inspired me,so I picked up a lot of 14 Dansco toned Kennedys for $80.00. Here is an example of one of them, and I like the color:
Thanks, Greg, dude! Yeah, the whole lot is gone from E-bay. Made a best offer, and they are now mine. They are not as high grade as yours, for sure--but decent MS for the most part. Prob 63-64, and love the coloration variances due to the interaction of the paper in the album.
That's great! I was surprised they were on there for so long. Looking forward to some new photos of them. :thumb:
Well, they arrive June 5th. With shipping and all, they were $89 bucks. I shall photo them against a white background for the contrast. Definitely go in air tights, and no slabs, and shall be fun coins!
That's where you and I differ. I would stick them in Library of coins or Whitman album, and let that toning progress. I know most people would not do that. But why stop or drastically slow down the potential for some amazing colors. *\o/*
