Help me ID massachusetts possible coin? I cant find Anything like this around.Found it metal detecting.Does anyone have an idea what it is? Thanks alot !!
Looks like some kind of commemorative token to me. You can see the state flag on the obverse and you can see "Mayflower" the state flower for Massachusetts on the reverse. Looks like it has been in the ground awhile!
It doesn't look like any MA colonial coins I've seen. Just guessing, based on the corrosion, that it's a severely corroded souvenir token made from a plated base metal.
You don't need to start two threads for this question. Your piece is some sort of modern token - possibly part of a set.
Looks like some kind of token. Maybe aMassachussets commemoration token of a colonial coin once minted. Keep diggin' young man, you never know until you find.
It is a modern token The one side says Massachusetts it has a picture of the state flag, under that is the date in 1788 that Massachusetts entered the Union, The sixth state and at the bottom it says Bay State. I can't see much on the other side but at the bottom it says MAYFLOWER. The rims and lettering style are nothing like a pre-federation coin.
Thank you very muuch everyone !! Im sorry i created 2 threads because i wasnt sure if i posted on the right section. My bad again and thanks alot!! Bye
