This half dime isn't the greatest, it's been cleaned and it was probably overpriced, but for some reason I am attracted to antebellum branch mint coins
This 1853 seated half maybe a Proof or one a mint worker made Proof like. the area on the coin that could not be hand polished. but it got in to circulation so now to say tits a proof I maybe wrong but something is odd about strike of it . :kewl:
Its been about two months since I bought a U.S. coin for my type set. This one came up and it was one I needed. Would have liked it slabbed but most of my U.S. coins are raw so its just another to add to a future slabbing session. Note these are the seller photos & all that debris is from the cardboard flip. Really doesnt get much crustier. not sure if this is a small star or large.

I gotta try to revive a thread about my 3rd favorite little coins (only beat out by the 3CS, and $1 gold. Come on, you know you love em too!). Rephotographed everything in my 7070 Type Set. I forgot how colorfully speckled this one was!
I got this one yesterday. It is my first. Also the first coin I did not get at face value. Big step for me. I know its not the prettiest but I'm happy with it.
I really like seated coinage, hopefully by reviving this thread, we can get to see some more of it...... Mike
Here are two dogs, the 1796 counterfeit, and the 1837 space-filler. But seeing the counterfeit may help someone down the line. Both have been offered on CT, for sale at nominal amounts, August 17 and 21.
