Gold Coin Identification?

    Could be something Swedish? Adolphus was one of the Kings of Sweden. However, he died in 1632. What's the coin made of?

    From what I can tell, gold.

    This is a Carolin or 10 gulden piece from the German State of Fulda, registered in Krause world coin catalog as a trade coinage with reference number KM#81. This should be a 77% gold piece of 9.7 grams.

    Values in Krause (USD): VG 250, F450, VF1000, XF2400

    However, I should warn you that I immediately saw some differences between the reference picture in Krauase and your pics, so I recommend you to get it certificated.
