These notes are from French West Africa. There is some demand for these notes, especially from those who are collecting notes from France & the French colonies. The 5 Francs is nothing really to write home about.
The 25 Francs is a very nice note. This is a very unusual denomination,as the French colonies usually issued notes for 20 Francs, not 25 Francs. This note is a very good item worth keeping in your collection.

Thank you Aidan Work. I do plan on keeping all of these notes for a very long time. Thanks for your input.

Aidan, are you a big paper money collector? You are the only one who has commented on all of my new posts so far. I hope you enjoyed the pics.

Jwevansv,I am a banknote collector (notaphilist),but it is British Commonwealth banknotes that I collect.I wrote an article about the Chatham Islands banknotes & coins. It was published in the February 2006 edition of the 'Coin News',which is published by Token Publishing in England.I've had some positive feedback in relation to my article, especially from the guy who was the agent that marketed the Chatham Islands notes & extremely rare coins to the numismatic trade.

I also work for a coin dealer on a part-time basis. My limited knowledge of foreign languages comes in handy.

    Aidan.
