2000 NH State quarter error or just heavily circulated?

    I'm not a coin expert nor do I know what I should be looking for, but this one caught my eye.
    It's a 2000 NH state quarter and it's smooth on both ends and it's slightly oval.
    I'm just curious if this happened as an error or did it happen post mint. Thanks for the input.

    The coin has simply been squashed similar to what occurs by putting coins on a railroad track only in the case of your coin, a very light train.
