That is a great start for CC dollars. You might take a look at the GSAs for future purchases. They often have a bit of a premium, but I have a bunch of them and love them. :)

Just picked these up from Teletrade cause there is no buyers fees on Tuesdays lol. I hate that $8 buyer fee make you feel like you cant get a good deal on anything.

This is more of a joke then anything else and I hope I do not offend anyone here. I found this 25 cent pog (not one of the ones from my tour in 07-08 since it was minted in 09 lol) that is what we use for money over in our AAFES stores in Iraq and Afghanistan. I took a picture from one of the PCGS TrueView and kinda made my own US Army TrueView with my 25 cent pog lol. Hope you can enjoy in a little laughter with me on this one.

Sounds good,, but did you still have to pay $12 (or more) for shipping ?

That would add up to $19 for the pair,, or around $10 per,, and is a bit of a different score on the deal meter.

Like the color on that 88' btw... nice.

No shipping ran me $6 for everything. Still not bad considering the Jeffy books at $30 on PCGS and I am not too sure what the 88 books at. I just saw it and loved the way it looked so I bid a $1 and won it so I dont think I did too bad.

I'm gonna have to re-check teletrade.. I kinda left them and stayed away because of the odd bid structure and hidden reserves.. but mostly I didn't like the fact the cheap seats that I enjoy so much were at a premium because of the shipping and min-premiums. For some reason I thought a $1 coin on teletrade would cost $21 (12 shipping and 8 min premium).. so some reason that was stuck in my mind.. I'll have to check it out again... thanks for posting !

That is the way it normally works with the exception to Tuesdays. On Tuesday they dont charge the buyer fees just the bid and shipping. Not to say that they are inexpensive anymore but on tues you get somewhat of a break but you wont find a whole lot of great coins to bid for. Lots of corossion coins, bent, ungraded due to artificial toning and tool marking or cleaning.

Yeah, kinda remember that too. A lot of dregs with maybe 10 or so quality coins mixed in and generally bid waaay up because so many folks are looking for deals on Tuesday and fixating on the few good coins....haha.. A good marketing ploy.

Just grabbed this one for a decent price. Attractive light-brown, round-rim, evenly-worn surfaces - Exactly what I'm looking for!

I suppose you could consider this was one of those "impulse buys" that I know many of us here at CT suffer from, because this will be my third 1812 in my set (the other two are PCGS-certified [VF30 and 35]), but I simply couldn't pass-up this beautiful example.

The grade NGC has assigned is fair, if not a bit generous. Although, I haven't decided whether I'll go the Registy-route for my Capped Bust Half set, so, for now, it'll stay in its NGC holder.

Anyone wanna take a stab at the 'O' number? I hope the mediocre photos will suffice. :)

PS: In case you were wondering, the price on sticker is not what I paid - These are the seller's photos. Expect a couple more photos the coin (taken by yours truly) within the next few days.

Nice 1812! I like NGC holders better, personally. I think you should leave it in the holder since you have a few others for the registry (unless you're one of those competitive people) and since you think it might be slightly overgraded.
