    Hi,

I was hoping someone would be able to help me with the value of a Canadian $1000 1954 modified note, graded AU 58. I assume it is worth a little more than face value, but am not sure.

    Any help is appreciated.

    Thanks.

Value would depend on the signatures.

It looks like the surnames are Lawson and Bowey.

value is about $1,110-$1,200 but they are a very tough sell.

Thank you very much! Not looking to sell, I was just curious to see if it had any value above face. Otherwise it was off to the bank. Personally I would never have had something so common graded, but since I have it now I thought I would inquire about the value.

    Thanks again.

A friend of mine (a coin dealer) picked up 16 or 18 of these a couple of years ago. He sold a few for a small profit but took the remaining 10 or so to the bank. It was a lot of money to have tied up.

I only have the one, which was given to me for face value by a friend. He had inherited the graded bill and was going to take it in to the bank. I don't have any $1000 bills (I collect coins, not notes) so I plan to hold on to it unless for some reason I ever need the money, in which case I'll likely just take it in to the bank.
