MS63. Your imaegs are way to dark to give an accurate grade. Detecto, are you afraid to throw light at them? What's up?

hard to tell from those pics.

My guess would have to be MS-66

It's my crappy camera. I have two lights shining right on it! When ever the coin gets brighter, my camera dims it down.

Sounds like you are using auto-mode on your camera then. Use manual, and adjust your white balance.
Also, don't be afraid to adjust white balance in your editing software.

+1 but change my grade to MS65

Your penchant for low grade mint state Jefferson Nickels not withstanding, there simply are not that many of these graded below MS65.

Detecto, any imaging software. Whatever you are using to crop them will have the same features. Are you using photoscape? It for sure has it. Brightness/contrast.

Remember his MS61 Jefferson from Teletrade? I don't remember the date, maybe this is it? I change my guess to MS61, too much of a coincidence.

The NGC populations for a 1941 Jefferson are:

    MS61: 2
    MS63: 5
    MS64: 19
    MS65: 66

Yeah, to be clear, I have a penchant for low grade MS coins of any type! As long as they are toned. lol

I like high grade proofs that are labelled as mint state coins, apparently.

Yes... far too coincidental. Same date and NGC holder = 61.

Sorry Paul, I didn't see this one was slabbed.

    My guess would be 64.

BTW, it is possible that this is also a mechanical error. From both Detecto's photos and those by Heritage, I see nothing that justifies the rather harsh grade of MS61. Perhaps Detecto will consider sending the coin to me so that I can photograph it properly. PM me if you are interested Detecto.
