Is there a question? For moderns like this a really nice DCAM is my favorite, but really lusters MS graded coins are sweet also. Some of the older proofs don't do anything for me.
Lol, I knew that. I don't like older proofs, in certain settings. Proof franklin halves, IMO, are ugly. It looks like someone polished the bejesus out of a normal coin. Proof wheats and Lincolns, I don't like as well. Now a indian cent, in proof, especially when toned, looks very attractive.
Agreed about Franklin proofs, or other types for that matter. Unless they are cameo, they do just look, umm, how do I say it, "too shiny"? Franklins ugly mug isn't helping the cause either.
That was the problem with brilliant proofs. The first coins from the die would have some cameo, how much varied, but the cameo faded and you had bland brilliant proofs. Also back then they would often repolish the dies as they became worn so you could have late state proof dies as well, ugh.
