    Hi,

I am new to this site. I found this coin in a large collection of soiled wheat pennies. I am not 100% sure if this is a genuine error coin or not. If you look at the first picture it looks like the coin has been struck twice since the coin has very strong features on this side and has an unusually deep rim. I was just wondering if anyone has any estimates as to the value of this coin.

    rickmp Frequently flatulent.

At first, I wanted to say PMD, but after enlarging it, it looks like it has an upset rim.
Maybe struck with a capped die?

Thoughts from someone more knowledgeable than I?

The obverse has been mechanically ground off, the rim was partially left but thinned during the process.

    Damage

STRANGE WHEAT CENT ERROR: Has anyone ever seen / heard of a wheat cent (reverse) over a Indian Head Cent reverse? I have a 1928 Wheatie that sure does look like it. Any comments please...

I've heard of coins like that. And they could sell for a hefty sum. IF they weren't fake, which they are.
