Hey guys can you take a look at this ike dollar i think it's a peg leg also can someone tell me if it is a type 1,type 2 or type 3 ike.
Matthew nailed it. I would also add that it looks to have a jaw and eye clash on the reverse. The eye clash could also be evident on the obverse, but I just can't tell from the shadows.
Hey guys thanks for your help i got quiet a load of ikes from my local bank last week it pays to keep asking all the time.I am going to post another ike it maybe a Talon Head die clash.
Same here Paul. I think Matthew and I are both Ike Nuts...........I seek others' opinions all the time, so I ALWAYS look forward to passing knowledge when I can.
I assume your talking about the highlighted area and in my opinion its a little too far north of the eye to be a talon head but i am by no means an expert.
VERY hard to tell Paul. Rotating the coin in directional lighting should bring out the talon if it is one. Once you see ONE good example, you'll pick them up with NO problem. Matthew is again correct in that it seems like it's in the wrong place, BUT talons can be that far "north/west" of the area they are known for. For two great examples take a look at this thread: http://www.cointalk.com/t205831/
It may just be that coin i have been comparing to the other ike coins and there is something about that area that is different.
