The 1921 peace is one of my favrites. Very nice, but I too suspect AT and agree that it should never come outta that holder.

Left of the I ? Thats part of the PD design.

What hits or marks would you guys say keep this coin to a 64? I have 64 with a lot more activity but I dont have any 21s so my experience is limited. I feel as it may be a 64+ on a good day. But I am not as concerned about the grade as much as I enjoy the eye appeal.

There are quite a few pretty heavy hits in the rays. Not to mention the rim ding by the edge holder and the larger hit on the neck. Those alone would hold it to a 64.

Then you have to add in that, whatever it is. Even if it is a strikethrough, it has a negative impact on the grade. Honestly, if it didn't have such pretty toning, I doubt they would have given it a 64. But who knows with them.

The rays are the only hits IMO that wi would consider a big deal. KC listed the L activity as a wire struck thru. I feel it is a strike thru of some sort but not sure if wire.

Rim dings have a much greater impact than many think. If it was any worse than that, they wouldn't even grade the coin.

?? I see one rim ding and its fairly mild. I am big on rim dings myself. Dont like em. But dont consider this one bad at all.

Eugene , don't forget the 1921 Peace is a one year variety , it's in high relief so you really can't compare it to the other years that are all low relief , also his '21 is one of the better struck '21's I've seen .
