1943 Copper Pennies

    I have two 43 coppers.

    The pics will heads and tails in sequence as follows:

    Do they stick to a magnet?

    Most likely fakes. Do the magnet test.

    Yes! How 'bout that, I have 4 steel pennies. I inherited these and other coins 40 years ago. Obviously 'plating' goes way back. Thanks for the heads up. Bummer.....

    i don't think they are plated. i believe they have rusted. i have quite a few rusted ones that look very similar.

    From 1960 Numismatic Scrapbook Magazine: You sent in the cents to be plated so they were not liable.
