Thanks, I could hardly believe it! And no, they knew the bag had $313 of coins in it. Maybe if I was thinking quicker I would have asked her to count it out for me!

No silver or proofs in the Ikes, but I did find two '76 P Type I's.

I hit 30 ounces so far for the year, whee.

In case anyone wants a breakdown:
    90% x6, 40% x55, BF x2, WL x2
    Wash x22
    Roosie x141, Merc x11
    War Nickels x65
    80% CD Dime x2

    Also 18 Buffs, 353 Wheats, 2 Steel, 200 Ikes, 2 2000 WAMs, and 3 Indian Head cents.

I'm pretty pleased, although it doesn't compare to some finds others have had around here. I guess I'm still waiting for a big score on halves, like everyone else lol.

    Vending Machine Silver!

I have found 0 silver in circulation for the last few months. I was starting to get REALLY bummed out when a really nice hat-tip came my way today.

I was walking to work, when I decided to stop by the Raley's brand soda machine out infront of the grocery store. It is 35 cents a can, so I dropped in 2 quarters and made my selection: Dr. Tremor. Sold out! NOOOO! I almost hit the coin return, but decided to go with Cola instead. I hear the soda land in the tray, followed by one "clink". I checked the coin return and I had been shorted! WTF?!?! I start looking around for my time, thinking maybe to shot out of the coin return. It did not. So I decide to grab my nickel. I look at the obverse, and it is dirty. Then I see it... 1944. I start to chuckle, then turn it over. I was hoping it was an S mint, but alas it was not.

A long post for a measly War Nickel but here I was worried about being shorted a dime when I had a War Nickel in the coin return the hole time! And my first circulation silver in MONTHS!!

Box of halves today was a skunk. Getting another box tomorrow. Still hoping for some 90%ers in there somewhere.

My four boxes of halves this week yielded only this beauty. My first proof silver and my first 1970 half in over a year of searching. Nice coin. Found it in my second box. Can't complain to much, would just like if I had a bit more volume in finds. Been pretty slow.

Yea, the green is the cover to my phone. Definitely has that cameo reflection. How do the scratches affect it?

Badly. Probably a PR61-62 or thereabouts, unfortunately.

I finally found something. Today, I go to my main dump bank to make a deposit. Just before I'm going to leave I notice some silver halves in the tellers tray. It was sort of hidden and they never seem to have anything anyway. I purchase the 12 halves. 10 of them are 40%. Sweet. It's been a while and my biggest find in a long time.

So I bought $20 in pennies at the bank yesterday and I woke up at 2 a.m. and decided I would go through them. Not all the way through yet, but SUPER excited about 1 coin that I found. I know it's probably one of the most common coins or something, nothing horribly exciting for most people, but it is the first one I have ever held.

Jon - nice find on the Indian Head! I have found 4 so far. There is something about finding them that is extra special. Finding anything that is 100+ years old is amazing to me!

    Nice find!

Nice, just found another 1939S nickel in the $140 rolls of various change I picked up today (which had no silver, but 3 wheat cents). Unfortunately that's the one I have already, but it's a nicer looking coin so it'll at least be an upgrade for my album.

Also opened a box of halves and got a 1999S clad proof, and 4 40%ers, including my very first 1976 silver half.

Not a bad day so far, and I still have a box of dimes and nickels I picked up today to go through. Full results on saturday/sunday, as usual!
