ZOMG! I went to a flea market today and got a lot of coins and silver. At the end of the day, I went down the very first row 1 more time just for fun and becuase I usually blow thru it since it takes 3 hrs to go thru all the rows and when I got to the last guy on the first row, he had a bunch of foreign coins and asked how much they were. He said 1 dollar each and went thru them. To my suprise, right infront of me was a 1795 liberty cap cent. Granted it was worn with a hole and some dents, the date, liberty, and reverse was still pretty readable!!! I almost had a heart attack but had to play it cool. I bought the coin and was just freaking out. I know you guys are dying for pictures and I will put them up tomorrow. Also it is real but damaged.
Im sorry I meant liberty cap and Detecto I said get them up today, not yesterday and just got back from classes.... Ill go take some right now.
Very cool coin. There is a market for these types of coins which were used for a specific purpose. Your coin is damaged, but it's not just run of the mill damage.
1795 S-77 These used to be considered rare but enough have come out of the woodwork that they are now down to an R-3 coin. Still an interesting buy for a dollar.
Who says a dollar buys nothing anymore? HA! I just had a mental image of Paul Revere's blacksheep cousin, Sneaky Pete Revere, with a little hemp twine tied through that hole, buying things for a cent and then as they walk away.... coin return! :too-funny:
i have just made the test how to get these funny icons : just copy the image and it does the job :thumb:
