Alright gang. We have some pretty wicked coin photographers on this forum. This is the contest: We are looking for 1 picture that you have taken... edited however you see fit... Shoot and edit THE BEST picture you can of 1 side of a coin you own. Post your edited image in this thread to be entered. I will then post a poll with all the pictures and it will be determined by a vote. 1 entry per person so make it count. The prize is an 1938 D Buffalo nickel graded MS65 by PCGS.
I don't know if it will win but it is an easy choice, my avatar. A 1939-D Rev of 40 Jefferson Nickel NGC MS67 that resides in my NGC registry collection. By far the best photograph I have ever taken.
Thanks for the contest! There's no way I'll win against some of these guys, but I'll definitively try to post the best one I can.
Wow Matt, great contest! Deciding which image to use is the toughest part for sure. I'll go with something a little unexpected for me. edit: changed location of image.
I don't hold a candle compared to some of these photographers, but maybe my coin will help. And thanks for the contest!
Easy. Doubt it will win but easy to pick anyways. It used to be my avatar as well as my pocket piece (it has since disappeared). My favorite single side of any US coin in history, from an angle. I always loved angle shots and it really works with this one.
One of my fav coins. It's VERY difficult to capture rainbow toning. These pictures are completely raw other than a resize. I never manipulate my pictures other than to resize them for web use. EDIT - I see it's just for ONE side...DOH. For kicks, I'm going with the reverse.
You guys realize if Brandon (BRG) or Shane (Krypto) or Todd (blue2vette) sees this thread, the rest of us are toast.
