    silentnviolent accumulator--selling--make an offer I can't refuse

Need opinions here folks. Found in change think it was lamination. I call it my "Jawless Lincoln" Brought to a local coin shop the dealer noticed (though I wish I could take credit for seeing it) the doubling at back of head and shoulders. Lamination or whatever is located vertically above liberty in a squiggly line and, starting above 1976, it goes up and curves around in front of Lincoln's face. The jaw area, from the chin to the ear, is significantly lower than the rest of his face. Now am wondering if it was struck thru grease or something? Either way, this coin dealer is one I like, and go to just to talk about coins. He offered me $20 for it, wanted to send it in. I turned him down, hoping I can some time save enough to send in 5 or 10 at once. Well, what do you think everyone? I finally got camera savvy so expect more pics for inspection! -Andy

I would say that is a very servere case of a lamination error by your pics ,but i don't see any doubled die indications. I would suggest to try and put better pics up .

    better pics...

so as you all can see I'm redoing the crap photos in my old threads... hoping to "clear things up" ha ha
anyway, is this a lamination, struck thru string maybe? behind the back of his neck & shoulders looks like authentic die doubling to me, but I haven't mastered the art of distinguishing the various forms yet. Any ideas now that you can see?

    Update

This coin has been sent today to Mike Diamond for error authentication/diagnosis. This is one of a group of 4; each has its own thread here on CT, and will be updated accordingly. I'm coming out of my shell a bit folks! This is the first batch of coins I've ever sent anywhere for any reason! I feel both nervous and excited about this... and I hope those interested will stay tuned and learn the results as I do..... keeping fingers crossed! :)

Mr. Diamond received my coins today! Via email, his determination on this coin is: "The 1976-D cent shows chemical damage, possibly from acid." ( I don't like to paraphrase a professional opinion, hence the quote.) Bummer.
