    I have an 1824 coin with "perish credit perish commerce" on one side and "FOR THE U.S. BANK MY SUBSTITUTE" on the other. Any information on this coin would be apreciated.

    Howdy azig - Welcome to the Forum !!

    It's a Hard Times Token - they were issued by private individuals and businesses due to a shortage of coinage during that era.
