I would need a closer shot of the coin to verify the grade correctly.. can you perhaps go to walmarts and pick up a better camera? they also sell tripods.. you should grab one of them too.. Get closer pictures and get back with us.
That 3000 px image isn't clear enough? Should I send you to the optometrist? One of these sold for $320 and another for $380 on teletrade recently. Neither had a CAC sticker either. I'm putting yours at $320 given the weak FB. Gorgeous picture!!
I am not sure if this coin should have received the FB designation. I can't really tell from the image, but there appears to be a mark that crosses the center band separation. On the other hand, notice the leaves to the right of the torch. They should not be 'floating.' The 'stems' should be touching the torch. On a 1945-FB this might be overlooked, but should not be overlooked on any other coin from this series. This might be a great example of "buy the coin and not the holder." I do agree the coin should be MS67 though... :thumb:
You would have to do a lot of convincing to make me believe this is FB. This is a stack coin, BTW. What would be a value, more or less, asuming it is not FB? Ruben
If your competent enough to argue against full bands, you should also be competent enough to research prices realized for comparable coins. It's not that hard.
Thats true, why don't you post the results you have found and what you think it is worth and then ask for opinions. That would spur a better discussion than just asking what people think it is worth. IMO
The coin looks very clean and the luster, color, and eye appeal are all outstanding. The topic of FB Mercury Dimes that don't appear so in photos has been rampant across all of the major coin forums over the last few weeks. Over on the PCGS forum, a member showed how easy it was to hide the full band line by changing the angle of the coin. It is entirely possible that is what is happening with this coin. Having said that, I would not buy this coin sight unseen and I would not buy it as full bands unless the bands were clearly split in hand since the population is over 200 in MS67 FB. My guess is that this coin will achieve PCGS Price guide for a non full band MS67: $340.
I'm not seeing pricing this high even for FB, unless I'm missing something. I'm definitely not convinced it is full band, and I'm not really sure how PCGS slabbed it that way. It seems to me that Stacks finds these anomalies far too often. I'd like buy from them but I never feel comfortable. Instead of them looking out for my interest, they seem to be in competition with me, and I really can't do that. Ruben
I just looked at Heritage's archive for 1936-S PCGS MS67 FB and the average was easily over $400. There were a few examples in the $300-$350 range, but perhaps they had the same issue this coin has.
They are selling it for 875 dollar 875 - 350 is $525 - So stacks is listing this coin for $500 more than the average selling price at auction. I hope that is clearer. Ruben
