What do you think of this franklin?

    I obviously like this style of toning as well--golden, with some dark accents.

    I'll readily agree that it is quite common. And as mentioned it is almost always found on coins from original Mint Sets. But not all coins in original Mint Sets toned that way. Many of them developed quite colorful and attractive toning like the one pictured below from an original set I used to own.

    But toning is like ice cream, you either like a certain flavor or you don't. There is no right or wrong, there are merely different tastes.

    I could not agree more. That's why I only collect blast-white franklins. Now toned morgan dollars, and toned ASEs are a whole nother "flavor" which I love.
