Resubmitting OGH PCGS Holders

Is it worth resubmitting them? I've heard that standards were supposedly "better" back then (i.e.: they graded harder), and today many might be given a more generous grade. If this is so, is it worth resubmitting some high-grade specimens in OGHs in the hopes of getting the grade bumped up one?

I generally keep OGH coins in the older holder. Consider sending quality coins for the grade to CAC for stickering.

Besides doing a cost analysis you really need to know if the coin will upgrade. I am sure there are some that can be cherry picked, but you need to know what you are doing. Me - I always just kept them in the holder.

If you KNOW 100% that the coin is undergraded, go ahead and send it in, if you THINK its undergraded because of the older holder, save your time and money and just keep it.

What do you plan on doing with the coin, if you want to keep it for your collection then just enjoy it.

If you plan on selling it then you have to consider what makes the most economic sense, but even then my standard answer would be to leave it in the holder and find someone who is willing to buy the coin...

OGH's will almost always command a premium, however slight it may be. I like the first suggestion, if you feel it's a premium coin, get it stickered.

Just because it is in a OGH does not mean resubmit. There are some finds in OGH but many are just accurate or not good enough for a higher grade. Also be aware that an OGH shows that a coin has been stable for XX years, a new holder and you lose that.
