The 1921 Morgan is quite common but this one is cooler than what I usually see.
What do you think it graded at PCGS?

A few minor dings and a bit of scribble on the reverse i think are just enough to keep it out of gem.. So will call it MS64
Absolutely beautiful 21 :D Love the toning

I am going with 63. The luster is a little dull and I see random circ. hairlines on the cheek and jaw.
It is perty for a 21. These usually have a mottled toning to them.

    64. Beautiful color. Nice luster. A bit too much chatter for gem, but a very attractive coin. I would happily own it. I don’t see any wear, so it isn’t high AU. Lowest it could possibly be is 63. 1921 Morgans rarely tone that nicely.

physics-fan3.14 You got any more of them.... prooflikes?

    AU-58.

You don't see as many 1921s with attractive toning, it seems.

Yikes..late but I was thinking 64. Looking closely I wonder if a bit of rub (disturbed luster on the cheek?) makes it a slider...the grade is a compromise. Perhaps.

    That is certainly possible.
It is still an odd way to do it. In most cases a 61 is worse than a 58 (especially on something like this common 1921 Morgan).

I never expected that grade, I would rather see it in an AU58 w/a plus.

They clearly net graded it, because of the dings. I disagree with their grade, as either it has very minor rub from circulation, or it is a MS coin. A 61 grade is definitely a hedge on PCGS’ part.

I would definitely rather have a 58+....luckily I was not the one that sent this in but bought the coin already slabbed.

I disagree with it too. I could see the case if it was a technical grade on a blast white coin. If they are market grading (which we are often told they are), I'd expect a 58, 58+, or 63 (maybe 62 if they want to be picky).
