Another one... Brazil 1935 2000 Reis. Great detail on the obverse!

My first real foreign (as in, non Canadian) coin purchases came in the mail today. I have a couple American coins in my collection, but those were won in a raffle by my teacher back in high school (my American gold coin) or found in my change while on trips to the US (my presidential $1 coin). This is my first full foreign purchase.

They are 999 silver legal tender $1 proof coins from the country of Niue (an island country in free association with New Zealand) with very familiar designs on them.

I've been to Thailand dozens of times & never searched for coins there. I was not aware of "Thailand original bullet money". I just reviewed some of the history of Siamese money on the Internet & the bullet money is cool. Can you recommend a dealer that sells genuine examples?

A nice Irish deciaml set I just got today in the post.
Gives all of the details on the coins (weight diameter issue date etc) and on the other page (side with the harp on it) it gives a bit of backround on the designs.
A nice set for the Irish collector which cost me $6.50

I don't collect these, but I could simply not allow myself to pass this one up for $10. I LOVE old things! :)

I forgot I imaged this one this morning also A $9.85 purchase on eBay. :) Not rare (Mintage 1.1 billion), but the obverse is absolutely stunning.

gun money crown 001.jpg gun money crown 002.jpg
Here is the gun money I mentioned earlier.
This is a coin I`ve been looking for months to get (adds a bit of history to any Irish collection) , originally I was looking for a shilling or half crown, but I seen this at such a good auction price I decided to get it and payed a very cheap $28 for it. Sadly the date side is a bit worn but the side with James II on the horse is actually fairly detailed and the writing around the edges is reasonable if its on a side that isn`t cut.
So now I got this I`m going to concentrate now on completing my Irish 1928-2002 collection! :D

I bought this (Czechoslovakia socialistic republic half crown) for $0.5. I love this reflection.

Nuts. I can't get any good pictures. I'm pretty happy about these coins, though:

A Belgian 1 franc coin from 1887 with the likeness of the notorious King Leopold II, and

a 10 sen coin from Japan, dated Meiji 43 (?) which I guess would be 1910. I love these old coins, you just hold them and think about who might have been carrying them around a hundred years ago or more. Right now the Belgian coin is the oldest I have, but I'd like to get some older ones.

Bravo Mr. Lumin. It's nice to hear a "Job Well Done" story in contrast to all the "eBay Nightmare" stories that are far too common. Congratulations saltysam-1 and Good Job yourself for giving props.

I caught some sort of bug for these old German State coins with the rearing Saxon Steed. I just got this one today, and I have a nice 1818 3 MG on the way. :)

This particular design was issued from 1700-1714. This example is from the first year, and the hardest to find. The pink hue of the coin in the picture is true to it's color in hand. Some interesting streaks throughout also, I believe left from the rolling of the metal. At the time this coin was struck The Duchy and Electorate of Brunswick-Luneburg was ruled by Georg Ludwig. He would later come to be more well known as King George I of Great Britain when he ascended to the throne as the first monarch of the House of Hanover in 1714.

I was going to like your post brg5658, until I saw you had been liked 666 times. And thought that was cool.
