It is exclusive from Asset Marketing (GovMint, New York Mint, First Federal). Before jumping on me I like the special NGC labels and the way these coins look...I could care less about increase or decrease in future value. The coin is stunning...and I am even more impressed by the black/union jack custom presentation case designed to hold the large slab perfectly.
That IS a cool looking coin....and, honestly, it's never a BAD thing to have 5 oz of silver around. I just can't help it...
"I could care less" is an idiomatic statement prevalent in American English that simply means that you don't care a whit. It may be a statement made to infer that that is true, when you actually do care, but don't want the listener to know it, or it may be a true statement, in that you truly are not interested (to care) in what the other person is saying or doing. Either way, it's technically incorrect if you are looking to dissect the statement and confirm it's veracity of language with the words and structure that is used. But it is, and has been, prevalent since the 1960's, possibly due to carelessness in teaching people the proper use of could/couldn't when paired with "care less" or it may be because putting it in it's proper structure (using couldn't instead of could) gives the feeling of a double negative, which would imply to some that it would then make the statement positive, meaning that the person did in fact care.
The day this coin was released I have searched the internet for pictures of it. Today at about the 15th time of trying I finally find some... right here on Coin Talk. Fantastic pics, fantastic coin. What made it hard to find is the ATB Olympic 5 oz silver coin which dominated the google search pages. I really love the design and wanted so badly to know what it looked like in hand, rather than the mint renders. That union jack case isn't from the Royal Mint is it?
I wish I had the funds to simply collect those without having to worry about the price of silver like I did when the SAE's started out but then, World Coins are viewed much differently than the American 5oz Pucks.
Thanks for the lovely post! Made my morning seeing this. I think the reseller packaging looks great, I personally like the Union Jack design....though I'd probably take it in our case by preference. We have good quality pictures on our website, and if you ever want to see pictures of a new Royal Mint coin just send me a message on here and I'll get them for you. Thanks all More pics here: http://www.royalmint.com/shop/l/luk50zs
There is a gold version as well, a snip at 18,500 Sacagaweas! Hello James, I'm Edward from the Facebook page. Nice to see you on cointalk with your exclusive info from inside the mint.
Hello Edward! I try to put a few exclusives on Facebook, but there are things that might be of interest to this forum but not to the general public that I could probably also get hold of. Consider me this forum's mole at the Mint ;-)
The Union Jack case is a larger version of the case used by The Royal Mint for the ungraded Olympic Coins. However the only marketer with the larger case is GovMint since they have the exclusive on the graded London Olympic Coins (with Royal Mint labels).
Dig the Reverse but the Obverse is played out! Time to for the Queen Mum to get a makeover! But the 5oz of Silver, now thats Prescious Metals Porn! I need a smoke!
