possible clad error

    Found this 1996 P dime at work.

    Tested Rim, slightly smaller, sounds different when dropped vs. regular dime.

    Much appreciated for your help.

    Most likely not, it's probably just been on the sidewalk to long. Can you post a picture of the edge? That would help us identify if it is or not.

    The dime weighed in at 2.2 grams.

    My guess it's enviromental damage.

    It's not a clad error, but keep looking. You will find something eventually.

    Nice pictures. It looks like it has been through some kind of chemical process, but not a mint error.
