Agreed! Dipping is rarely a betterment.

If it graded as a 63 the picture has to be completely off and looking at the photograph, I don't think it is hiding that much detail. The issue really is luster. A photograph this good, conversely, poorly shows luster and you need to guess that out from the surface texture.

nah thats not wear. thats normal. many Morgans dont fill in there as its usually one of the last spots to fill.

I agree that it's a 64-65 Obverse and a 66-67 Reverse. I LOVE the clean satin on the reverse. At least from those pictures. As many have said, I wouldn't be surprised if it was sitting in a 65 holder but the obvious marks on the obverse might hold it back. Nice pick up!

Gorgeous Satiny luster, chatter in the field looking more like MS63-MS64. Beautiful strike, especially the reverse.

After the new pics I'm going to say its in a 64 holder. Definitely not a 65 because of the obverse. obverse is pushing 63 but I say the reverse keeps it at 64.

thats the same coin? Here is the trick to taking this picture. First, get a cheap tripod unless you have much steadier hands than i do. Get as close to the coin as possible to get a focus and pull the less in as much as possilbe (the opposite of telescoping). Make the light indirect and be prepared to play with the light.

Yeh well... between Treasure, Greenie and me, this Island of Nassau, Formally Jamaica, in the far reaches of the eastern shores of this great state, makes up the majority of replies that cointalk has ever had that weren't from Doug.

The coin is a pretty clean 64. I agree that there are a few too many marks for 65, but a very solid 64, maybe a 64+. The reverse is higher--probably a 66, and the obverse brings it down to reality. Still a very nice coin based on eye appeal. The contact marks that are there are in a quite noticeable place--the cheek. I would have bought that coin if I were looking for that date, as it is a sleeper.
