nickel stamped over wheat penny??!!

    i found this going through some old pennies. you can see where it looks like the monticello is stamped in the back and you can see where it says cents twice below it. any help is appreciated!

    welcome to the CT forum . the coin you have here is what we call a hammer or squeeze job. two coins have been hammered or pressed together by someone that was probably just playing around.

    Yeah Rascal is right. Sorry but it doesn't look like an early retirement is in your future with that one but keep looking! Several members have found some cool varieties and errors while roll searching.

    Welcome to the world of coin collecting. :)
    When I first started, and was roll searching and what not, I thought I found a retirement coin every other day. lol
