I have this off centered penny from 1978 and the reverse seems to be rotated slightly also. I do not have any idea what kind of value this coin has, as I am a YN and I am new to error coins. I also do not know how to measure how far off center a coin is.
I am open for your opinions, Thank you :D

    rickmp Frequently flatulent.

Nice 25% +/- off center. I don't see any rotation, though.

It looks to be about 20-25% off center. I came up with that by measuring the diameter of the coin image on my screen, and dividing that into the diameter of the impressed area.

Another winner! K2 is on a roll! :)

Value? I have seen these go from $5-25 in auction. Check Ebay.

I always wanted errors and now I found some that are actually worth something :D I know a dealership which as books full of errors like these and the other ones I posted for just $0.25-$5!! Any thing that I should look for? (besides double dies, they don't have those)

You really can't see the rotation? Its actually rotated a little more than the pics shows because the obverse isn't straight up and down...

That's the way I used to think it was done but a few years ago I was informed by an error expert that you calculate the percentage off center by dividing the unstruck area by the total area of the coin and multiplying by 100. Can anyone confirm this?

    EDIT

I started a new thread to discuss the "official" way to calculate the percentage a coin has been struck off center.

I do think it is slightly rotated, but not a great deal and the off-center is more important than the slight rotation.
