I have this penny (1982, believe) where the obverse of the coin has a very weak image of Lincoln, there also appears to be a weak image (as weak as the image of Lincoln) of the Lincoln Monument also on the OBVERSE. The reverse is in perfect shape and nothing is wrong. I have never seen a error like this before and I was hoping to find out what kind of error it is and how much it could possibly be worth. The coin is in an Uncirculated condition.
I am open for opinions, thank you.
(The pictures of the Obverse of the coin are not blurry, if you are wondering, it is how the coin looks)

I agree. Another coin became stuck on the obverse die and became the defacto die. After a while that coin (which has become a cap on the die) became flattened out and it muted the details of the obverse (because the obverse die was capped) while the reverse details were normal.

    Cool find!

I am sorry I am new to errors, if a coin is "Struck through capped die" what does that mean and how would it occur? Would it bring any premium?

Values range for modern and common date coins is $26-$75.
Awesome! Now I could actually do research on the coins because I have a background on how the error occurred, Thank You!

Cazkaboom One for all, all for me.

    Very nice capped die!

P.S. to all the regular cointalkers, glad to see a winner after all of these losing error coins. Glad to see one that isn't PMD! :)

Good item! Did you find it in change? Roll searching?

I found it in change that I go back from my school lunch. I did a double take at first and was really suprised that it was an error coin. It shocked me even more that it is in a condition around BU

:thumb: It's amazing what you find floating around out there in change. Doesn't anybody look at their coins?:(

I know that i look at the coins that I always get in my change. Sometimes people look at me funny when im looking through it. I once went to Mcdonalds with my friends and I was going to get $7 back in change, and I asked for it in quarters... They thought it was a joke and started laughing... Funny thing is I found a silver quarter in there. :)
