    Hello everyone,

I was off from my job on Monday January 2nd so I took advantage of the beautiful weather and went Metal Detecting at Frank Siegel Park near my apartment in the Bronx NYC.

I found 2 Nickels and 2 Wheats Cents in one spot.
Another neat coin spill. Today when I was cleaning my finds I noticed it was a 1943 S Silver War Nickel :woot:

Great way to spend your day but you didn’t need to hunt from sunup to sunset. At least that’s what it looks like from all you found. :)

Nice haul Ed. I think that pocket knife is from the 50's. I may have one just like it. I will look through my stuff.

I see the K but not the number. I ordered a gold test kit so I will know by the end of this week.

Here is a photo. The knife turns out to be a fishing knife made by Imperial. My grandfather gave it to me way back in the early 50's. It is my first pocket knife.

So, even if it isn't a coin, but it is gold, do I win for saying you'd find gold this year? LOL
Nice post as always. I love seeing what you find, no matter what it is.

    Cool finds.
Do you mean Frank Siegel aka Franz Sigel? He was an instigator of the revolution of 1848 in Germany and had to flee the country after the revolution collapsed. He was a teacher and later a general for the Union. The token shown above celebrates his victory at the battle of Pea Ridge in Arkansas. His brother Emil was a die cutter and made a number of dies for Civil War tokens. Good hunting on your future trips, it's always fascinating to see what you find.
