Coins I found In my change anything special about it? This is just a coin I found in my change a while back. I don't know much about coin collecting but I like to hold on to coins I find that are kool or older. Appreciate if anyone could tell me if it has any value other then 25 cents or whats up with its color. Thanks ahead of time! These are some other coins I figured I add see if maybe they have any value by any chance..Any tips or opinions are appreciated!
I see quarters like this all the time, i'm almost positive it's just from being in the ground or circulation wear. If you keep looking in change, you'll find something good soon though! lots of wheatbacks still out there
Thanks so much! I figured it's worth a shot I've just been wondering about it for quite sometime now.Ill have to post some more pics of other coins I have held on to see if I have any luck lol...Thanks again!
bigbird: Did you find that Standing Liberty Quarter in circulation? It is worth silver metal value, about $5.47 right now. The quarter is worth face value, just has some cool toning. The pennies have about 2 cents of copper in them each. I set stuff aside all the time from circulation that I simply like how it looks.
Would need a weight in grams on the Washington quarter to see if its a wrong planchet/missing clad. I would have to say it is either copper wash or annealing. The standing liberty is worth more than melt. Wheatie common date 2-3 cents
No actually my dad gave me that once I told me I wanted to start collecting. Thats real cool to know though and I really appreciate it.lol even thought the other stuff doesnt seem to have much value I will probably still hold onto it certain thing I just find kool hehe.. If you don't mind me asking what exactly is cool toning? Cause I know coins change from their orignal colors all the time but I just never seen one that color...Or maybe just never took notice?lol
koin jester Im really new to all this so please bare with me I really am trying to learn lol. What exactly is copper wash, aneeling, and wrong planchet/missing clad?
Cool toning is simply nice toning of any sort that happens on a coins surface due to a chemical reaction with the air or surfaces it was exposed to like a sulphur coin album. It isn't always attractive so there is definetely "uncool" toning as well, lol. If you look at my avatar picture I consider that toning to be top shelf. The market is supporting rainbow toning on uncirculated coins. <------ This coin
Lol Thanks for explaining...I know all my questions probably sound dumb but bare with me I will learn haha!
It would be dumb if you didn't ask the question. Frankly we all have a duty to support new comers into the hobby. I felt dumb not long ago asking my auto parts dealer how to replace my car's thermostat. Was glad he was nice about answering, saved me about $100.
Bigbird, I will answer toyr question tomorrow as I am on my phone and it would take mean hour to try and type it on it.
