I just had the mail best experience of my life getting a box of classic model soldiers! Unfortunately for most of us, it was the Royal Mail in the United Kingdom and not the USPS.
UPS says it’s out for delivery by 9 pm. That means I should have it around 5 pm today. I’ve forgotten what I ordered other than coins.
I have it!! UPS brought it right to my door. It was mailed on Friday with a holiday on a weekend and I have it today. I’m excited and I’m off to open and see what I bought.
Had a hold on my mail. Start date was Friday until today. Guess what was in my driveway all weekend and in the rain.
You can try complaining to your local office. You can also call your US Congressman and file a complaint. And there’s the toll free postal number. It’s a shame that this happened to you but I know how you feel. Hope nothing was ruined.
I opened the package but it will take some time for me to go through them. I bought a NJ Colonial Cent, a Morgan Dollar and 32 Roman and Byzantine coins in November. Here is a copy of the shipping label to show what the USPS carrier did. UPS had no problems. He came right up to the door and handed it to me. I cropped the photo to eliminate addresses. I come and go all the time and so does the other delivery services. My groceries are delivered in a 24 foot box truck and they have different drivers. They all back up once to turn around. But the postal service can’t deliver and she could turn around in her keep without ever using reverse. Not that there’s anything to hit.
Supervisor gave his card and cell number for future holds. Contents were packaged good. Thankfully. What needs to change is when you have a hold and mail is being held. Packages track as being delivered in/at mailbox. Even though they are at post office. Not this time.
I had the exact same issue as the OP’s a couple weeks ago. I called the local post office right away and they contacted the carrier who told them she wouldn’t come to our door because she is afraid of our barking dog. He’s a harmless rescue who has never bitten anyone in his life. I just decided to avoid conflict and picked up the package the next day.
One of our FedEx guys was just dropping some boxes in the living room. I had to separate his and our rescues or they’d have kept playing and he’d never finish his route.
The most amazing thing, in times of package theft, is that they were still there. Along with a pack of Marlboro reds. Lol
A true story from today my USPS brought my mail today and inside the Flyers No Lie was a gold ring . I ran down the street to catch the post man and told them there was a ring in my flyers he couldn't believe it he said he tried to see if someone lost it or came off their finger when they were packing the mail today I'll find out more tomorrow sorry no periods
We live in a house that's on a dirt road and about .9 miles. Our carrier drives her car up to the mailboxes on the road. If it doesn't fit our mailbox, I get a little note from our carrier that she could not deliver a package. I live in a rural area and I know our carrier personally as well as the Post Mistress(?). With all of the problems with mail, I now have all of my mail held at the post office. I still get a note that there's a package, but I have not lost any for quite a while. It's really nice to live out in the country. My wife taught English for 33 years and knows about everyone. We can't go to Walmart without some former student stopping her to tell her all about their wife and kids. I was an army brat and travelled everywhere. I never went to the same school twice. I repeat. it's nice to live in the country. We've been here over 30 years. Best of luck to you all. Anyway, make friends at the post office.
Whoa, didn't see that coming! I've had great letter carriers and I've had awful ones. I tip the great ones lavishly at Christmas time and didn't tip the lousy one at all. Needless to say, he took out serious revenge on me. Shipping anything remotely valuable has me on tenterhooks every time now. It's all part of our magnificent transition from a high-trust society to a low-trust society. This, they call progress.
