A lot of glues will not dissolve in anything - i.e. epoxy or hot melt. Even super glue is pretty resistant to just about anything except acetone. If it is raised (I believe it is), it was added to the coin. Just about the only other possibility would be solder and that sure does not look like solder to me. That only leaves glue, lacquer, plastic or similar.
Usually, when a newbie gets the correct answer and not the answer they want, they disappear. I think that this is the case here.
I'm also amused when the thread has "Never seen one like it" or "Never found before error" or something similar. The thread almost always is about a "man-made error" which the poster is adamant is an authentic error and is extremely valuable regardless of what they are told.
I agree. If it's so unique and valuable, I wonder why they bother to come here with their "treasure", instead of straight to Ebay?
Ebay's usually their next stop. ....but some do go straight to ebay: http://www.ebay.ca/itm/ERROR-1952-D...80?pt=Coins_US_Individual&hash=item564947dc50
the Ebay coin in this thread looks real but I doubt if it is worth the asking price but one never knows how bad someone else wants something. this coin looks to have a small lamination flake under the last number in the date. on the 2 available part the Ebay seller probably made a typo there.
