Just a curious question here, but how often do you guys take out your notes, and just look at them.

I have a pretty small collection so far. What I have barely fills one of those small currency storage boxes, but every once in a while I just like to take out the collection, and look at what I have.
If I'm having a rough day, or am feeling stressed out, sometimes this helps lift my spirits a bit.

I know that some people have very valuable notes, that they keep in SDB's and safes, so looking at those may be a bit more difficult, and I imagine that, depending on the value, the less the note is handled, the better.

For the most part though, the way I see it, what's the point in having a collection of something, if you can't look at, and enjoy it.

Most of my collection (95%) resides in a bank SDB. All of my collection is scanned and available for viewing through my PhotoBucket account. I do however keep some of the more unusual notes at home to look at and show to family and friends. I try to have at least one example of each catagory of different colored seal notes to show, RED, BLUE, YELLOW, BROWN, GOLD,and GREEN along with some Nationals with different cities names. People also get a kick out of seeing sheets of currency.

Every few months I will pull them out and lay them out to look at them.

I look at mine way too often. Ever since I was a little kid, I've always just been fascinated with money. My parents can recall several occasions where I would get in trouble at school for making money from the other kids. The weird part is, it was never necessarily to buy something, it was just to have the money itself. My safe where I store my currency is conviently located in my room where I can look at it as I please. Water proof, fire proof, burguraler proof, you name it. It's a SentrySafe. It has a pin pad so it's really easy to close and open. I agree with you, why have something if you're not going to be able to enjoy it? It's just like some people that have cats that run around the neighborhood but they put food out on the porch to feed them... What's the point? Look at is and enjoy it as much as you please. Just be sure not to wear the paper, of they're not in protectors sleeves. I made this mistake when I first started collecting. Just put sleeves on and they should be okay. Do your bills have sleeves protecting them?

Same here. I don't go through all the albums, just one or two at a time.

I usually don't pull out the whole collection, but will get a few notes out here and there if the mood strikes me. Mostly it is the unusual notes I have at the house such as fractionals, obsoletes, or something else that I think people would find fascinating.

Yep, way ahead of you, t-bud.

I put every note I own into a sleeve.
It doesn't matter if it's a slightly worn circulation find, or a purchased Chcu note. They all go in sleeves.

A short while ago, actually, I bought a pack of 50 sleeves off of ebay, because I got a little tired of having to go to my local coin shop every time I run out.
From now on, I think I'll just go that route. When I start to run low on the current pack, I'll hop on ebay, and buy 50 more.

I bought 400 the last time I went on eBay and I'm out. What kind do you buy? I buy the cheap flimsey ones only because they're not so thick when it comes to stacking and storing. They're also just down right cheap and economic.

I view some of my favorites all the time... like... every day! :p

Are they the mylar ones with the "flip" along the long edge? I really like those ones! They won't protect against a fold, but they're thin, easy to use, and gem clear! :)

I'm probably once a day too, at the very least. Yes, those are the ones I am talkig about. I have so many notes that those are perfect because they are thin. I don't see anything wrong with looking at your collection daily, as long as you're not cauing it any harm. :)

I prefer the rigid holders to the flimsy ones. If I'm going to protect my notes, I want the best protection in a top-loading holder.

I go the cheap ones for the cheap notes but go the thick route for the expensive notes.

I even put my graded notes in a binder page to keep the covers nice!
