Definitely a token if both sides are identical like that, but it's nothing I've sen before, and with only two characters I don't recognize, I don't think I can even narrow down the country reliably.
Probably not Japanese, Chinese and Japanese share many characters, but my wife tells me the character on the left is Enjoy, but the translation she finds for the character on the right is to raise or to grow up. She says it makes no sense in Japanese, possibly in Chinese it means Enjoy Growing Up. Possibly a school type medal. But what about the E & E???
Yeah the more I looked at it with both sides being the same, no year or denomination...I was thinging it might be a token of some sort. I wasn't sure about the symbols if they were perhaps the year or denomination. Maybe its a Chinese Chuck E Cheese game token? LOL. Still gonna try and do more research
no. they are chinese or japanese. in most cases hanzi and kanji are the same meaning, because kanji originated from hanzi. they are pronounced differently, of course, but the meanings are the same. there are slight variations in modern writing due to structure, but simple characters like those are the same. I would trust what Kentucky translated through his wife because it fits the context of the image on the token. I would say it's certainly a private issue token of some sort, but it could be from a number of countries.
