I don't follow the question. The first lnk shows a page that pictures one side of the Confederate seal and the other takes you to a page that gives a little information about the Confederate half dollar. Is he asking if the coin exists? What exactly is the question?

I'm sorry for being so vague... I have a medal... somewhat crude... but is not anything I've ever seen before, and it had my coin store manager stumped. The one side has a horseman, the other has a CSA seal. It has half dol on it. Any ideas on this particular medal itself?

It sounds like some sort of replica, but if you can post a picture of it then we can probably be more helpful.

Definitely sounds like a fantasy piece sold as a souvineer at Civil War battle sites etc. The Confederacy DID strike half dollars, over a million using Union dies and exactly four using their own Confederate die and a Union obverse. These coins are well documented both in Confederate documaents and numismatic ones. And the locations of all four Confederate half dollars is known. (Although oddly enough the location of the Confederate die is not known. I believe it was donated to the museum at Louisiana University, but they claim to have no knowledge of it or its location.)

If your item looks like the first link, it is possible that it may have some significant value, at least on ebay. I do not have time to dig mine out for a close comparison, but I have a proof like specimen that I believe is exact/similar in appearance to the item in the first link. Mine is made of white metal, and has excellent detail/workmanship. I picked mine up on ebay (raw) for around $20. I had not seen another until last year, when an ebay seller had a copper variety, which NGC had slabbed it at around 65 or 66. Supposedly that was the first of that token to have been slabbed by NGC. (I made some notations somewhere, for my future reference). Mine was exactly like the seller's aside from the metal. That auction ended close to the $500 mark.

But if yours is somewhat "crude", you may have something else. I will wait for some pics.

I would say that the coin is a Counterfeit and a poor one at that! Souvenier (Copy) pieces were probably used for whatever method was used for producing the Counterfeited coin.

Note: I know that it is hard to tell from the pics but you can see the uneveness of the fields and it appears that there are small chunks out of the coin especially along the rim.

lmao, I figured. Oh well... I might as well keep it anyway to go with my civil war collection. I just noticed this morning that there is an uneven seamline on the side of the medal. It has that "hand-crafted" feel to it now :)

    Thanx for the help.
