Hold on, there are a lot of people here who will tell you why, just don't take my word.

Don't....anything HSN sells is likely to be overpriced....
The State quarters are damaged by the plating....and you really would only have $17.50 worth of coins.....
I don't know where they got 105 coins....I can only count 70 P and D quarters for 1999-2005.....but lets say its 105...you would only have $26.25 worth of coins.

every one will have the whole 50 state quarter collection. they aren't that pretty anyways, and there were so many minted, that it will take 200 years for them to be worth anything much. And that 24 karat gold/hologram junk is ridiculous ( i do not mean for this to be offensive in any way, this is totally my opinion.) I will end by saying that if you are willing to spend $175, you might as well buy a 1/4oz gold eagle.

I saw this on HSN last week and started laughing.

They sell pretty, shiney sparkly things. But coin collectors who dig the history and beauty of coins would never buy that. Gold plating coins is considered damage, not an enhancement. If you like the way they glimmer you can buy them, but don't ever expect that the coins will have resale value of any kind.
If you like owning old coins (some of which appreciate in value nicely), check your local coin shops or look for a coin show in your area.

That plateing stuff is in really bad taste (orange leisure suit stuff).

Sure its a good deal! If you dont mind paying at least 40% more than actual HIGH RETAIL PRICE, for some garbage coins in nice cases.( most of which are damaged & you will be lucky to sell for face value). But, if that is your cup of tea, then do it.
I , as others, would recommend buying the book before the coin( red book is a start for U.S. coins)
The best investment in the coin world is knowledge. Do your homework!!
