Welcome to the neighborhood, Brystan! First, if you don't already have a copy, you should invest in the Red Book of United States Coins by R. S. Yeoman and published by Whitman. As for coin shows or coin clubs in your area, probably the best thing you could do is to ask about them at a coin shop in your area. Good luck! Chris
this site is a good place to start....i currently live in mill creek so if you are talking washington state and live in the western part of the state i might put you on to things from time to time but I don't belong to any coin clubs or anything........coin talk is kind of like a coin club though.....good luck
Welcome to CT. Here's two suggestions for you: Great coin info, not so great price guide. The prices are outdated by the time the book is on store shelves. To help you not get ripped off by fakes and counterfeits.
It would be easier for you to ask questions then to have members tell you everything they know. Some members here know a lot and some members think they know a lot. Once you get a focus of what you want to collect then ask to your heart's content.
If you think you know what I think I know, then you know less than you think. However, if I think I know what you think you know, then I know a lot more than what you think I know. Chris
thanks everyone! Seeing as I have just started I an Mostly into cents right now. but as i get further in to this I will expand to other kinds of coins. and thanks for the tip, I wont use the books prices.
